Web-to-Print Glossary
Artwork Approval
A workflow where customers review, annotate, and approve print-ready artwork before production begins. Reduces costly reprints caused by artwork errors.
API (Application Programming Interface)
A connection method allowing PrintXpand to sync order data, product catalogs, and customer records with storefronts, ERP systems, and logistics platforms.
Bleed
The extra artwork area (typically 3-5mm) extending beyond the trim line. Prevents white borders after cutting. Required on all full-bleed print files.
DTF (Direct-to-Film)
A printing process where ink is applied to a special film, then heat-transferred to a substrate. Popular for apparel with complex designs on dark fabrics.
Web-to-Print
Technology that connects online ordering to print production — allowing customers to design, proof, and order print products through a browser, which then flows directly into a production workflow.
